Fall trimester is over which means that we have started our new afternoon activities! One of the afternoons I’m currently participating in is Girl’s basketball, or as we like to call it, G-Hoops. Because I’ve never played basketball before – I have really only played H.O.R.S.E. with my dad – I was a little anxious about how my first day would go.
This semester, I am taking Introduction to Astronomy. Astro is different at Putney because we get to make observations and spend time at our observatory, as well as working in the classroom. This means that on clear nights, my classmates and I walk five minutes to the observatory; take out some telescopes; and look at stars, planets, and other deep-sky objects.
This is a picture I took when I went for a walk near Lower Farm! Not only are there dozens of trails through the woods and mountains, but there are fields and valleys as well. It's great to go explore or take a nice walk around our beautiful campus, even if you aren't in an outdoor activity (such as hiking, cross country, snowshoeing, etc).
