Singing for Our Batswana Friends

When the Maru-a-Pula School Marimba Band visited us last week, we pulled out all the stops for Thursday morning all-school Sing to welcome them. First, we had Sing on Tuesday, to accomodate their whistle-stop tour of the U.S. to raise financial aid money for AIDS orphans in Botswana who would like to attend the school. They played Tuesday night at the Latchis Theater in nearby Brattleboro. We sang many good songs, but finished with a rousing version of Bill Monroe's 1947 gem, "Summertime is Past and Gone."
