Guitar Duo Grooves at Assembly
Senior Sam Talmadge & Junior Daniel Lamport shared a new guitar composition during All School Assembly. Here's a few words on their improvisatory collaborations:
We started playing together much more frequently at the beginning of this year. What usually happens when we create our music is that one of us (usually me) comps and plays chordally around one key center. While I play the chords, Sam lets his ability to play melodically speak for itself. In most instances, we do not put much thought into the process, we simply create. The thought is necessary when we decide which effects to use in the manipulation of our sound. We frequently employ delay, reverb, distortion, etc. Therein lies our musical process. - Daniel
