Michael S. Currier Center Construction Update

January 16th

We invited this discerning trio of future Putney School students for a tour and informal focus group regarding the programmatic implications of the Michael S. Currier Center. From left are Rory, class of 2016; Emily, class of 2013 and Luke, class of 2018. After a round of after-school donuts in the corporate satellite headquarters of DEW Construction Corp. (you know, the trailer), Construction Boss Tony Papa led our panel of experts (and their mom) across the -30 degree F windtunnel to the west entrance. "Wow! Cool!" was Rory's first words upon looking up at the skylighted ceiling. "Is this your new office?" was the first question when they checked out the cheery coziness of a newly carpeted music practice room. There were murmurs of approval when the group enjoyed some late-afternoon sun beaming through the glass sliding doors in the Currier Room, under the watchful eyes of mom and Papa (sorry, couldn't help myself). Luke is looking forward to the day he can compose his first opus in the MIDI lab. All three thought the recently painted ceiling in the dance studio was neat, but were disappointed that they couldn't dance there because their boots would turn all red. So they took a spin on the auditorium stage, instead. Emily, a veteran of three Nutcracker ballet performances at the tender age of 8, deemed the space suitable for her fourth. Their favorite part? The balcony overlooking the auditorium floor, even though Tony had to lift them up to peer over the edge. The final question came from the youngest, "Are there any donuts left?"
