Michael S. Currier Center Construction Update

February 11th

It's been a long, cold, windy month of piecing together steel beams. But the closest any of the steel workers ever came to complaining was one guy, high on a lift during one particularly windy, subzero day who quipped, "You know, it's almost too cold to do this."

Here's the 10,000-pound electronics vault being lowered into place behind the back wall of the auditorium. A transformer will eventually sit atop the vault and regulate electricity for the new building. Some steel decking that will support the turf sections of roof have been laid in place. Wooden joists that will support the auditorium roof are being installed this week. Now that the website guy is over the flu, you'll see more frequent updates. Thanks for you patience.
