| By Monday at 4 p.m., the last coat of polyurethane will be drying on the auditorium floor. The stairs to the stage are done, as is the stage floor. Sliding doors cover the dance studio storage areas, chairs are neatly stacked in the auditorium closet and members of Putney's physical plant staff are unpacking and assembling music stands, risers and the portable acoustic shell that will help project music all the way back to the cheap seats. At 12:30 p.m. Wednesday the Vermont state inspector will be signing the certificate of occupancy and we'll start arranging chairs and music stands for the Putney School orchestra concert, upon their return from Spain. After that, we'll have a nice cool drink of water. | ||
