Michael S. Currier Center Construction Update

May 28th

As the Michael S. Currier Center takes shape, we're noticing some of the more interesting details. And, since we're allowed to crawl all over the thing at this point, we've been able to photograph these interesting details from some interesting angles. For example, the big photo above shows the support beams of the larger of two skylights from a bird's eye perspective, looking down into the gallery area. The beams will support the glass that illuminates the floor and walls below.

(clockwise, starting upper left, below) Backing up a bit brings the back side of the other skylight into view. A few more steps and you're face to face with the tallest corner. Drop down through the hole and you find a concrete floor in the making. The wire mesh suspended by chunks of brick will reinforce the concrete that engulfs it. And, finally, the view from the stage door of the access ramp.

Stay tuned for more. The tempo is picking up every day!
