Mt. Monadnock, with its treeless summit, pokes from the eastern skyline like a, well, like a big granite pimple. No sense keeping it a mystery, so the incoming new students of 2008-09 climbed it on Wednesday.
But we didn't just turn them loose in the parking lot. After a full day of on-campus orientation Tuesday, they arose early with their student and adult orientation leaders, boarded busses to the base and had at it. Everybody made it and most had enough energy at the end to say it was a good day.
Classes started on Thursday, activities today and regular 6-day jobs get rolling this weekend. We have a great new crop of incoming students and a bunch of others who got really tall over the summer. It's going to be a great school year!
