Nobody's quite sure of the origin or timing, but when someone announces "Pirate Day" at The Putney School, it's all hands on deck.
Friday's crew responded with gusto, as you can see from this gathering outside the Currier Center after morning assembly. There were more Arrrs and Ayes than a Rhode Island address directory.
The scurvy dogs of Old Boys dormitory decorated the outside of their house to resemble a pirate ship, complete with cannons, Jolly Roger, plank, square sail, and a "skeleton" crew. Be ye warned, another Pirate Day could break out at any moment.
