After dark, students participate in astronomy labs at the observatory, acquired in 2000. Beginning life in the 50s as the Alumni House, Gray House was converted in 1992 and named for First-Family Ed and Mabel Gray and their descendants. (Ed and Mabel were the caretakers of the estate which was to become Putney School in 1935; they provided invaluable hands-on education and a home-away-from-home for generations of Putney students.) |
