Join us to hear about this hilltop in Vermont where teens, artists, and writers gather each July to make art, write, and create community. Students ages 14-17—current 8th graders through rising seniors—live in dormitories on campus and take two, 3 hour workshops daily, focusing on their key areas of interest alongside like minded young people.
On Monday, January 10, at 3 p.m. EST, join Tom Howe, Director and Dan Folgar, Associate Director of The Putney School Summer Arts for an info session—feel free to invite colleagues. Virtual class visits to your classroom, school assembly or guidance office also available.
Much More Than a Summer Camp
We’ve worked hard to create a campus community that supports the arts as a necessary element of everyday life. In addition to artistic skill, we’re interested in the pursuit of meaningful work. We encourage collaboration over competition — you’ll draw inspiration from your peers and explore together.
What It Takes
We aren’t looking for students who’ve necessarily achieved a certain standard or mastered a particular skill set. This is a place to experiment and explore. You’ll be surrounded by teachers and peers who share your passion and encourage you to step outside your comfort zone.
Our students are already creative and curious when they arrive. What’s really exciting is watching them get brave and vulnerable. I can promise you that Putney provides all the right ingredients to make that possible.
