Operations Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the coordination and tracking of all student travel before, during and after the program
  • Serve as contact person for parents, guardians and family members of students as they arrange travel to and from Putney
  • Monitoring the suitability, availability, and scheduling of school vehicles
  • Managing the on-boarding process for new drivers, scheduling, and confirming availability
  • Planning and coordinating all program activities including and overnight camping trip, as well as on and off campus trips and events
  • Day-to-day administrative office support
  • Early morning/late evening office coverage on a rotating schedule
  • Maintain, implement and monitor student schedules, whereabouts, and attendance
  • Support healthy and positive student habits including timekeeping, sleeping, eating, hygiene, full program participation, and socializing
  • Form positive, professionally appropriate relationships with students to further enhance their summer experience

Work Hours and Benefits:

  • Seasonal position from May 29th 2023 through August 4th 2023 
  • Evenings and weekends off in advance of staff and student arrival
  • One 24-hour day off per week while program is in session
  • Additional $250 stipend for returning staff

Our ideal Operations Coordinator candidate:

  • At least 2 years experience in a fast-paced office environment
  • Responsible, reliable, punctual and flexible
  • Calm under pressure with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google suite applications
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experienced and interested in working with and supporting teenagers 
  • Has previous summer camp experience
  • Enthusiastic with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Must be 21 years of age or above
  • Must be eligible to work in the US for the duration of the program

Desired but not required:

  • First Aid training
  • Event management experience
  • Photography skills
  • Social Media / Digital Marketing experience
  • School bus driver endorsement that is valid in Vermont

Things to expect at Putney Summer Arts:

  • Long work days with changing schedules
  • No smoking or vaping for the duration of the program
  • No alcohol, drugs or illicit substances for the duration of the program
  • No internet-ready devices (including smart watches) outside of your room/office
