Applying for Financial Aid
Step 1: Getting Started
We use Clarity to make applying for financial aid as easy as possible for your family. Clarity determines your family’s level of financial need based on the information that you share in the application. The streamlined, user-friendly process can take as little as 20 minutes to complete. Be sure to select the correct Summer Session under the grade applying for drop down when adding The Putney School to your application.
Step 2: Submit your info
Save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there’s a $60 fee to submit, and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity application for no additional charge. Simply use the dropdown menu in the application to select those schools. Clarity will automatically waive the application fee for families who meet certain income and asset criteria.
Step 3: Upload tax forms
Your 1040 and W-2 documents from the previous tax year will be automatically transferred from the IRS when you complete the verification step. But please remember to return to your dashboard after you submit to upload any additional tax documentation.
