I really like history. I did a project week about Magna Graecia, a region in southern Italy with a huge ethnic Greek population. I wrote a 30-page paper about why the Greeks colonized that area, and the short and long-term consequences. I would love to be a research historian out of college, and get grants to do projects and dig things out of the ground.
I also really like music production and recording. I never did anything musical before Putney, but I was looking for a way to express myself, and I really appreciate music as an outlet. I’ve gotten interested in the more technical side, like audio engineering.
I’m also on the basketball team. There’s a lot of different people because there’s no tryouts, but it’s a fun team and a competitive team. We play games against a bunch of other schools. And there’s a lot of rec basketball that goes on, so you can always find people to play with in the gym. I’ve really enjoyed the freedom to pursue my hobbies and interests.
