Putney is responding to the challenges of COVID-19 by trying to balance all our various responsibilities, knowing that sometimes these may pull us in different directions. We know that in this pandemic, the behavior of each individual may ultimately have an impact on the larger community and even state and country. The whole idea of ‘social isolating’ is in stark contrast to our way of life at Putney, but we’re working hard to learn these skills, hoping to need them only temporarily.
Our students are our first concern. and we have asked most of them to stay at home and learn remotely for the time being, while allowing international students and others for whom home is not a good option at this point to remain on campus.
We are having staff who can work from home do so, while knowing that many will need to be here on a daily basis. And we are reaching out to find out how we can be helpful in the town of Putney, especially to support some of our more vulnerable neighbors.
I’ll keep our community updated frequently, and will post all of my communications on this page (see below).
