Gear Up for ‘Long Fall’ Camping Trip

Students sitting on rocks during Putney's Long Fall camping trip. Students are getting ready to arrive on campus and move into their rooms, but they won’t be there for long!

Per Putney tradition, we will immediately pack up and head out in small groups for a four-day, three night camping expedition where students will get the opportunity to engage in a variety of outdoor activities.

From bicycling and backpacking, to rock climbing and canoeing, our annual Long Fall trip helps students develop an appreciation for nature, while fostering a bond with their Putney community. Through teamwork, trying new activities and telling stories around the campfire, we instill a sense of leadership, responsibility, self-reliance, sound judgment, environmental stewardship, and joy.

Long Fall encapsulates what a Putney education is all about, and is just one component of what makes our school so special. We are looking forward to what will unfold in the year ahead!
